Billy Murphy
Billy Duane Murphy, 69, of Greenville, and formerly of Portland, Ind., died at 3:39 a.m. Dec. 4, 2011, at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born Aug. 2, 1942, in Farmland, Ind., to Worley and Lillie Foster Murphy.
Surviving with his wife, the former Ann Heidegger, are a daughter, Delana (Dennis) Jutte, Fort Recovery; a son, Alan (Misty) Murphy, Castine; two brothers, Emmett (Barbara) Murphy, Celina, and George Leroy Murphy, Zephyrhills, Fla.; five sisters, Neva Roy of Zephyrhills, Dorothy (Norman) Fenton, Winchester, Ind., Patsy (Tom) Sommer, Deerfield, Ind., Treadesa (Larry) Jackson, Portland, and Ireda Mullen, Montgomery, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A brother, James Murphy, and a sister, Karen Smith, are deceased.
He worked for United Telephone, Sprint and CenturyLink and served in the Indiana National Guard at Portland. A 1961 graduate of Ward-Jackson High School in Saratoga, Ind., he attended St. John Lutheran Church in Greenville.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Pastor Alan Knoke officiating. Burial will follow at Weimer Cemetery, Saratoga, Ind.
Calling is 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
