Ruth Walker
Former Portland, Ind., resident Ruth Alice Walker, 94, Celina, died Feb. 21, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Oct. 6, 1917, in Bath County, Ky., to Rens and Edna McGlothin Sorrell. On March 17, 1945, she married Cecil "Shorty" Walker, who died April 12, 1987.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda (Charles) McClung, Wichita, Kan., Connie (Robert) Snyder, Celina, and Nancy (Bill) Fabian, Fincastle, Vir., and three grandchildren.
She had worked as a hospital aide at Portland Hospital for 23 years.
Private family service will be held at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland. Burial will follow in Claycomb Cemetery.
