Destructive fire

The home at 31 W. Fifth St., Minster, was destroyed by fire Saturday evening. No one was injured, however, a pet dog did not make it out, Minster Fire Chief Dale Dues said this morning. The fire department was called to the home, owned by Chad M. Bowers, at approximately 11:30 p.m. Dues said an investigation into the cause of the fire is under way. New Bremen Fire Department assisted with the fire, which was contained in about one hour. Firefighters were at the scene for about five hours.
