Michael Boley
Former Mendon resident Michael S. Boley, 68, Corinth, Miss., died Feb. 27, 2012, at Centennial Hospital, Ashland City, Tenn.
He was born Sept. 6, 1943, in Piqua, to Roger M. and Grace I. Shane Boley. His mother survives in Celina. On April 29, 1967, he married Cheryl Adams, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Julie (George) Huttick, Clarksville, Tenn.; a brother-in-law, Denny (Deb) Adams, Mendon; and a grandson.
He attended schools in Celina and Coldwater. He graduated from Wright State University and earned a master's degree from Indiana University.
He was an engineer and had worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber, St. Marys, for 23 years and later retired from General Motors.
He was a Brother of Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Fort Donelson Camp 62 and a member of Sons of Veterans Reserve.
For eight years, he was a member of the Mendon-Union board of education and had served as president.
Services are 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Mendon United Methodist Church, the Revs. David Howell and Don Clinger officiating.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall, following the service for a celebration of life dinner.
