Luella Sommer
Luella S. Sommer, 95, Fort Loramie, died at 10:45 p.m. Feb. 29, 2012, at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney.
She was born Jan. 24, 1917, in Fort Loramie to John B. and Clara Schulze Bergman. On April 14, 1945, she married George F. Sommer, who died Feb. 17, 1986.
Surviving are two children, Gerald "Gary" Sommer, Fort Loramie and Marsha (Steve) Davidson, McCartyville; three siblings, Leroy (Rita) Bergman, Minster, Paul (Pat) Bergman, Fort Loramie and Ruth Roth, Celina; a sister-in-law, Norma Bergman, Houston; and a granddaughter.
Deceased are three brothers, Urban Bergman, Lester Bergman and infant Herbert Bergman, and in-laws, Teckla Bergman and Ralph Roth.
A member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, she was a member of the St. Anne Ladies Sodality and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was employed by Autokraft Box Corp, Minster, for 26 years. She also had worked at The Canning Factory, Minster, and had helped families in their homes in her younger years.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
