Tom Osterholt
Mercer County native Tom F. Osterholt, 74, of Portland, Ind., died June 6, 2012, at his home.
He was born March 10, 1938, in Coldwater to Norbert and Josephine Niekamp Osterholt. On Feb. 5, 1959, he married Emily Brookheart, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Mark Osterholt of Fort Recovery, Keith and Brad Osterholt, both of Portland, and Jim Osterholt of Modoc, Ind.; a daughter, Julia (Donald) Guggenbiller, Fort Recovery; three brothers, Howard, Jerry and Paul Osterholt, all of St. Henry; 22 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He owned and operated Osterholt's Sohio Service Station in St. Henry for 46 years and also was engaged in farming. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portland, where he served as an usher, the Holy Name Society of the church, American Trap Shooting Association, Tri State Gas Engine and Tractor Association and Western Ohio Tractor Pullers Association.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Robert Moran officiating. Burial will follow at St. Henry Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland. A scripture service takes place at 7:30 p.m.
