Truck stop continues full service

MERCER - The Motor Inn Auto- Truck Stop offers the conveniences of home for those on the road.
The privately-owned business, which includes fuel pumps, a convenience store and an 85-seat restaurant, is the only location in Ohio belonging to Roady's Truck Stops, a national association of nearly 300 independent truck stops in 43 states. [More]

Denny Riethman, Tri Star horticulture instructor and an FFA adviser at Coldwater Exempted Village Schools, received the Outstanding Teacher Award for the state of Ohio from the Ohio Association of Agricultural Educators (OAAE).
Riethman was one of 10 teachers nominated for the award in District 5, which includes 36 schools in parts of Mercer and Auglaize counties and all of Shelby, Darke, Miami, Preble and Montgomery counties. He was nominated by a colleague. [More]

New elementary, no remodeling in revised plan
CELINA - School board members on Monday approved moving forward with a plan to build a new elementary school and demolish East and West elementaries.
Previous plans that included major renovations to the high school and middle school most likely will be nixed.

ST. HENRY - Village officials and residents discussed downsizing plans for a new swimming pool to save money but did not tweak the latest design during a special meeting Monday night.

CELINA - City officials plan to crack down on people violating the two-hour parking limit downtown by legislating a new escalating penalty system.
If enacted, habitual parking offenders would be assessed a heftier fine each time they're ticketed by the Celina Police Department.
