Alvin Kaup
Alvin D. Kaup, 83, Fort Recovery, died July 12, 2012, at The Gardens at St. Henry.
He was born Dec. 20, 1928, in St. Peter, to John and Mary Catherine Knoth Kaup. On Feb. 6, 1952, he married Alma Nieberding, who died July 23, 1997.
Surviving are two daughters, Marjorie (David) Haines, Franklin, Tenn., and Linda (David) Guggenbiller, Portland, Ind.; four sons, Bob (Brenda) Kaup, Fort Recovery, Rick (Lisa) Kaup, Berne, Ind., Kenny (Jane) Kaup, Chandler, Ariz., and Dennis (Brenda) Kaup, Fort Recovery; three brothers, Adrian (Bernice) Kaup, Fort Recovery, Dale (Donna) Kaup, St. Anthony, and Floyd Kaup, Coldwater; a sister, Irene (Mark) Hein, Coldwater; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a grandchild, a sister-in-law, Ginny Kaup, and a stepmother, Hazel Kaup.
He was a retired truck driver for Cooper Farms, Fort Recovery. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6515 and Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, both of Fort Recovery.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial is at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery, with military graveside honors conducted by the Fort Recovery American Legion.
Calling is 1-6 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
