Lester Young, 74, Celina, died at 10:25 a.m. July 25, 2012, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.

He was born May 11, 1938, in Jennings County, Ind., to Ernest and Mable Simmons Young. On Dec. 29, 1988, he married Norma Combs, who survives.

Other survivors are a son, Thomas Leighty, Savannah, Ga.; a daughter, Melissa (Bob) Lacey, Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, Jerry (Sharon) Young, of Arkansas; two sisters, Judy Young, Hamilton, Mont., and Linda Kreitzer, of North Carolina; and two grandchildren.

Deceased are two brothers, Melvin Young and Norman Young.

He was a retired truck driver for Kahlig Trucking, Coldwater, and a 1956 graduate of Jackson High School, Union City. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eagles, both of Celina.

Services are 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
