Alvin Sudhoff
Alvin J. Sudhoff, 76, Fort Recovery, died Aug. 17, 2012, at his residence. He was born Oct. 27, 1935, in Fort Recovery to Henry and Veronica Muhlenkamp Sudhoff. On May 18, 1957, he married Bernice Schoen, who died Dec. 15, 1974. On July 30, 1976, he married Judy Eggeman Youngpeter.
Surviving are six daughters, Barbara (Kris) Franchini, Noblesville, Ind.; Cheryl (Tom) Tobe, Fort Recovery, Rebecca (Tim) Droesch, Vandalia, Carla (Dave) Wendel, Fort Recovery, Jan (Eric) Schoenherr, Coldwater, and Kelly (Dave) Laux, Fort Recovery; three sons, Mike (Donna) Sudhoff, Fort Recovery, Tony Youngpeter, Fort Recovery, and Alan Sudhoff, Fort Recovery; three sisters, Irene Link, Fort Recovery, Merilda Fleck, Celina, and Mary Knapke, Coldwater; three brothers, Herman (Dorothy) Sudhoff, Fort Recovery, Paul (Mary) Sudhoff, Madison, Ind., and Ray (Margie) Sudhoff, Fort Recovery; 22 grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Cleo Sudhoff, Coldwater.
Deceased are a sister, Rita Meinerding, and a brother, Alfred Sudhoff.
He was a retired farmer and 1953 Coldwater High School graduate. He served in the Army National Guard and was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 3324, Fort Recovery. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Anthony.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Mark Soellner officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. A Knights of Columbus prayer service will be 7:50 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
