Dennis Lammers
Dennis F. Lammers, 72, New Knoxville, died at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 31, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 19, 1939, near New Knoxville, to Silas and Lola Howe Lammers. On Sept. 10, 1966, he married Marlene Knost, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Brian (Maria) Lammers, New Knoxville, Beth (Dan) Butcher, Wapakoneta, and Blair (Beth) Lammers, New Knoxville; three sisters, Karen (Bob) Wisenborn, Celina, Sandy (David) Barlet, New Knoxville, and Diane (Tom) Fledderjohann, New Knoxville; and nine grandchildren.
He was a 1957 graduate of New Knoxville High School. He served in communications in the Army, stationed at Homestead Air Force Base during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He was a farmer his entire life and bred award-winning Brown Swiss Dairy Cattle.
He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, where he was an elder and a deacon. He was a member of the Ohio and the National Brown Swiss Association.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 1-5 p.m. Monday in the Ministry Center of the church and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Heritage Room of the church.
