Janet Pond
Janet Marion Pond, 81, Rockford, died Dec. 7, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born April 4, 1931, in Dublin Township, Mercer County, to Willard Charles and Helen Geneva Counterman Hays. On Aug. 27, 1949, she married William B. Pond, who died Feb. 20, 2011.
Surviving is a son, Ken (Carla) Pond, Rockford; two daughters, Joan (Brad) Glass, St. Marys, and Jennifer (Scott) Ralston, Rockford; a sister, Lois Jean (Jack) Powell, Rockford; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Paul Hays; a sister, Joann Now; and a grandson.
She was a homemaker and a 1949 graduate of the former Rockford High School. She was a member of Mercer United Methodist Church and its Women's Society.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 1-4 p.m. Sunday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
