Lowell Liette
Lowell E. Liette, 80, North Star, died Dec. 10, 2012, at Wayne Hospital, Greenville.
He was born May 12, 1932, in New Weston, to Raymond E. and Elizabeth Couchot Liette. On Feb. 9, 1952, he married Madonna Didier, who survives in North Star.
Also surviving are three children, Linda (Mike) Kuether, Osgood; Pamela (Tom) Broerman, Minster, and Steven (Sheila) Liette, Versailles; three siblings, Ralph (Ella Mae) Liette, Chickasaw; Connie (Urban) Winner, Osgood; and Judy (John) Knight, Springfield, Va.; in-laws, Bob and Edna Stout, St. Henry; Naomi Phlipot, Versailles; and Lewis (Wilma) Didier, Frenchtown; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are five sisters, Ruth Hiestand, Helen Stout, Dolores Bryd, Norma Rammel and Susie Gilliland; in-laws, Art Rammel, Charlie Gilliland, Charles (Ets) Hiestand, John Bryd, Virgil and Beulah Didier, Jerome Phlipot and Delores Ellen Didier.
He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, and its Men's Society, and a former North Star Little League coach and town council member. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during the Korean War, and a member of the North Star American Legion.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, North Star.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry, and 9-10 a.m. Friday at the church.
