Lester Topp
Lester I. Topp, 85, New Bremen, died at 4:15 a.m. Dec 18, 2012, at his home.
He was born May 14, 1927, in Chickasaw to Ernest and Lucinda Stienecker Topp. On Sept. 24, 1949, he married Ruth A. Stutz, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Gary (Sheree) Topp, New Bremen, and Mike (Joyce) Topp, New Bremen; two daughters, Shirley Deen, Forest, Va., and Jill (Micheal) Nagel, New Bremen; a sister, Goldie (Robert) Byram, Houston; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Clarence, Israel, Frank and Warren Topp; four sisters, Adelia Anderson, Viola Sanders, Lola Wertz and Iva Covault; and one great-grandchild.
He received his diploma from New Bremen High School and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked at Seiberling Latex, and Hayes Albion and retired in 1989 from Stamco.
He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial with military honors from the New Bremen American Legion will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Grand Lake Hospice.
