ST. MARYS - Safety service director Eric Ostling was fired from his position Tuesday after only three months on the job.
Mayor Pat McGowan would not give a reason for Ostling's dismissal, only saying he wanted to go in another direction. Police chief Greg Foxhoven will serve as interim director until a new person can be hired. [More]

CELINA - After months of discussion and research, city council members on Monday night approved the final reading of an ordinance setting a new downtown policy for fences, advertising signs and other street obstructions.
ST. HENRY - A new barber shop has opened in the location of a previous shop in downtown St. Henry.
Corey Everman of the Maria Stein area is now operating the Barber Shop on Mane, 141 E. Main St., in the location previously used by retired barber Scott Rindler.
