Archie Walker
Archie L. Walker, 83, Montezuma, died March 19, 2013, in Lima.
He was born Sept. 15, 1929, in South Carolina, to William Lee and Lois McGuire Walker. On Nov. 26, 1983, he married Joan Schoen, who survives in Montezuma.
He is also survived by two daughters, Debbie (Ronnie) Williams and Tami Walker, both of Rock Hill, S.C.; six grandchildren, Annette Foy, Lee Walker, Anna Walker, Jenny Walker; Timmy McDaniel and Stephanie McDaniel; one stepgranddaughter, Krista Chartier, five great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jaxson, Jacob, Dalton and Tres; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Emery and Kylee; a sister, Judy Walker-Childers of Rock Hill; and three in-laws, Shelia Walker of Whitmire, S.C., Robert Schoen of Montezuma and Mary Fleming of Whitehall, Md.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Walker, and siblings Polly Childers, Richard Walker, Gladys Reeves, Shirley Garrett and David Walker.
He was retired from the city of Rock Hill, where he had worked for the utilities department and the Rock Hill Herald. Archie loved nature, especially bird watching, and fishing.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Montezuma.
Calling is 2-5 p.m. Friday and 12-12:30 p.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or State of the Heart Hospice.
