Helen Heitkamp
Helen M. Heitkamp, 89, Fort Recovery, died April 19, 2013, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born Nov. 7, 1923, in St. Peter to Frederick and Anna Huelskamp Roessner, who are both deceased. On April 26, 1947, she married Melvin Heitkamp in St. Peter, and he died Feb. 26, 2002.
Surviving are six sons, Joe (Esther) Heitkamp of Fort Recovery, Steve (Marie) Heitkamp of Burkettsville, Tom (Kathy) Heitkamp of Fort Recovery, Jack (Edna) Heitkamp of Fort Recovery, Doug (Janet) Heitkamp of Portland, Ind., and Tony (Valerie) Heitkamp of Fort Recovery; three daughters, Sue (Carl) Lange of Celina, Jane (Gene) Westgerdes of Fort Recovery and Angie (Alan) Koester of Fort Recovery; a sister, Irma (Ralph) Wuebker of Fort Recovery, 49 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Peg Bergman of Fort Recovery, Verla Roessner of Fort Recovery and Anna Lee (Jack) Kunkel of Newland, N.C.
She is preceded in death by three grandchildren; brothers, Harold, Tony, Joseph, Alvin, Norbert, Chuck and Linus Roessner; sisters, Joan Roessner and Esther Roessner; and stepbrother, Paul Wehrle.
She graduated in 1942 from Immaculate Conception High School, Celina. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter, as well as the Christian Mother's Sodality of the church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Fort Recovery.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in St. Peter.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
