Thomas Penrod
Thomas R. Penrod, 84, Portland, Ind., passed away Friday morning in the Jay County Hospital.
He was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Portland, to Leonard and Pearl Teeters Penrod.
He was a farmer, involved in harness racing for 60 years, and worked in construction for 60 years. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and member of Union 669.
Surviving are his companion for over 40 years, Patricia Heiby, two sisters, Jane Miller of Phoenix, Ariz., and Wanda Runkle of Winchester, and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, the Rev. Mark Strietelmeier presiding. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery in Fort Recovery.
Calling is 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials can be given to the donor's choice.
