Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset as temperatures begin to drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Maria Stein Fest

The infamous tractor square dancers, swing their Allis-Chalmers mounts during a preview performance at the Maria Stein Country Fest on Thursday. This year's theme is "Duck Dynasty." The 26th annual festival gets under way at 5 p.m. today on the Shrine of the Holy Relics grounds off St. Johns Road. Festivities continue Saturday and Sunday with food, fun and free entertainment, including the tractor square dancers, the aerial and animal show, a variety of bands, volleyball and cornhole tournaments, sculpting and rides for all ages.
