Marie Pottkotter
Marie Frances Pottkotter, 95, passed away July 11, 2013, at the Gardens in St. Henry.
She was born Nov. 6, 1917, to Louis and Anna Selhorst Lange. On May 17, 1941, she married Albert Pottkotter in St. Henry, and he died May 9, 1984.
She is survived by children, Ralph (Pat) Pottkotter of Celina, Henry (Rita) Pottkotter of Coldwater, Lou Ann (Jerry) May of St. Henry, Mary (Mike) Barga of Versailles, Roger (Patricia) Pottkotter of St. Henry, Donna (Mike) Subler of Versailles, Paul (Janet) Pottkotter of St. Henry and Cy (Darlene) Pottkotter of Fort Recovery; 28 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren; siblings, Wilma Dues of Coldwater, Cyril (Margie) Lange of Fort Loramie, Rita Schroer of Fort Recovery, Leroy (Irene) Lange of St. Henry, Eugene Lange of St. Henry, Frances (Lawrence) Gehret of Fort Loramie, Cletus (Edna) Lange of St. Henry and Louis (Martha) Lange of Wapakoneta; and a sister-in-law, Sally Lange of Celina.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Dan May; a great-granddaughter Jody Chavez; a brother, Elmer Lange; sisters Cleo (Ralph) Strete and Sr. Agnes Lange C.PP.S; and brothers-in-law, Sylvester Dues and Joe Schroer.
She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and its ladies sodality, St. Henry American Legion Auxiliary and the Maria Stein Guild. She worked at the former Buckeye Overall in Coldwater, Schmitz Fur Farm, the former Flavorbest Turkey plant in Fort Recovery and Boeckman & Gast Cannery in St. Henry. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Wendelin Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry. Memorials may be given to State of the Heart Hospice in Coldwater.
