Alma Ranly
Alma Martha Ranly, 90, Philothea, passed away July 23, 2013, at Celina Manor.
She was born Sept. 30, 1922, in St. Wendelin, to John and Cordula Guggenbiller Post. On Aug. 20, 1947, she married Orville Ranly, who survives.
She is also survived by eight children, Donna (Jack) Thobe of New Bremen, Nancy (Bill) Mueller of St. Henry, Linda McKitterick of Van Wert, David Ranly of Woodington, Roger (Karen) Ranly of St. Henry, Floyd (Betty) Ranly of Celina, Cindy (Dennis) Wellman of Bryant, Ind., and Connie (Dave) Heinrichs of Coldwater; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ben (Joan) Post of St. Henry; a sister, Mary Alice (Jim) Faller of New Weston; and in-laws, Leon Vondrell of Fort Recovery, Henry Drees of St. Marys, Alice Post of St. Henry, Lucille Droesch of Chickasaw, Don (Joan) Ranly of Columbia, Mo., Ella Mae (Ralph) Liette of Chickasaw, Rose Mary Obringer of Coldwater and Marie Ranly of St. Henry.
She was preceded in death by infant children Mary, Joseph and John; a son-in-law, Sam McKitterick; siblings, Eugene (Esther) Post, Gregor (Esther) Post, Zeno (Dolores) Post, Hugo (Norma) Post, Alvin Post, Rita (Herman) Nerderman, Agnes (Paul) Fullenkamp, Zita Drees and Rosie Vondrell; and in-laws, Alvina (Walter) Klosterman, Norbert (Ethel) Ranly, the Rev. Victor Ranly C.PP.S., Hilda (Florus) Obringer, Sr. Theresa Joseph, Paul (Erma) Ranly, Art (Eileen) Ranly, Rita (Ray) Flaute and the Rev. Ernest Ranly C.PP.S.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Philothea, and its ladies sodality. She formerly worked at the Mercer County Home, Buckeye Overall, Delco in Dayton, New Idea, and was an accomplished seamstress.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Philothea. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Memorials may be given to State of the Heart Hospice.
