Dannon expanding

Construction on the west side of the Dannon plant in Minster began in May, according to spokesperson Michael Newirth, but it is just part of an ongoing project to reallocate space at the facility. Once complete, the area will be partially used as production space for a new product in Dannon's expanding Greek yogurt line. Essentially all of the contracting and construction is being handled locally, Newirth said, but he could not provide a timeline for the project. "As our business continues to grow, we are always doing some type of construction or development at the plant," he said. Newirth cited the factory's breakroom as one area that will be relocated entirely because of the project. Space at the plant is divided into offices, milk receiving, production, filling and packaging and warehouse space.
