Minster Mayor Dennis Kitzmiller, right, accepts the first Minster Oktoberfest button from button chairman Leon Mertz. The button, designed by Maria Stein-area resident Shelly Bruns, depicts the 39th annual observance with a beer stein, pretzel and wooden shoes. The 1982 Minster graduate holds a degree in marketing from the University of Dayton and owns RB Advertising. Kitzmiller also signed a proclamation designating Oct. 4-6 as a time for residents to honor their German ancestry.
