Wilfred Depweg
Wilfred H. Depweg, 91, of Coldwater, died at 4:30 a.m. Aug. 21, 2013, at St. Rita's Hospital, Lima.
He was born July 12, 1922, in Chickasaw, to the late Frank and Kathryn (Bruns) Depweg. On July 3, 1948, he married Delma A. Vondrell in Cassella, and she survives at Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices, St. Marys.
Also surviving are a sister, Edna Wimmers, Centerville, and in-laws, Leon Vondrell, Fort Recovery, Lula Vondrell, Cincinnati, and Pat Vondrell, Dayton.
Deceased are two brothers, Raymond (Eileen) Depweg and Charlie (Mary Ann) Depweg; two sisters, Viola (Stanley) Strukamp and Doris Overman; and in-laws, Tom Overman, Edgar Overman, Leo Wimmers, Marinus (Rita) Vondrell, Ermine Vondrell, Urban Vondrell, Eugene Vondrell, Marie (Tony) Evers, Luke Vondrell and Rosie Vondrell.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from NCR in Dayton. He was a life member of the Coldwater Eagles, Coldwater Veterans of Foreign Wars, Coldwater American Legion, and the American Legion Color Guard. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and a former volunteer at Mercer Health in Coldwater.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial with military rites will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. on Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
