Edward Buehler
Edward H. Buehler, 88, Fort Recovery, died Aug. 26, 2013, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
He was born Nov. 6, 1924, in Burkettsville, to George and Rose Stammen Buehler. On Sept. 1, 1951, he married Marcene Kahlig in St. Peter.
Also surviving are a daughter, Karen (Bob) Schroer of Fort Recovery; a son, Dale Buehler of Fort Recovery; three sisters, Clarine Liette of St. Henry, Mary Thobe of Maria Stein and Phyllis (Cyril) Evers of St. Henry; two granddaughters, Angie (Rob) Muhlenkamp and Gina (Patrick) Spears; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence (Rose) Buehler and Walter (Alvina) Buehler; sisters, Evelyn (Ben) Bruening, Dorothy (Alvin) Raterman and Virginia (Bob) Stupp; and brothers-in-law, Clarence Liette and Werner Thobe.
He was retired from Minster Machine after 40 years and was a farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in the Pacific Theatre. He was also a member of the American Legion in Coldwater and the Knights of Columbus in St. Henry. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the church's Holy Name Society and choir.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, gardening and spending time with his family.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Peter, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-9:45 a.m. Thursday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Coldwater American Legion.
