Virginia Lueterhand
Virginia H. Fuelling Lueterhand, 92, Portland, Ind., died Aug. 26, 2013, at Dunkirk-Millers Merry Manor, Dunkirk, Ind.
She was born Jan. 4, 1921, in Washington Township, to Lewis and Pearl Spreng Menchhofer. She married her first husband, Louis Fuelling, on May 8, 1946, and he died Feb. 19, 1990. On Oct. 31, 1992, she married Merle Lueterhand, who died Dec. 1, 2008.
Surviving are a son, Roger (Delores) Fuelling of Glendale, Ariz.; two grandchildren; a stepson, Ken Lueterhand of Knoxville, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Karen Burtch of Macomb, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Erma Monroe, and a brother, Herman Menchhofer.
She was a secretary at the Fort Recovery Equity, and was employed at the former Hartwig Poultry Processing in Fort Recovery. She graduated in 1941 from Fort Recovery High School.
She was a member of WELCA and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Salamonia, Ind. She was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Recovery. Throughout her life, Virginia was someone who exhibited Acts 20:35, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Recovery, the Rev. Sharon Stonerock officiating. Burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery.
Calling is 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
