Construction of the Auglaize County dog shelter is on schedule with roof work to begin after the walls are completed. Heyne Construction, Minster, is building the 2,300-square-foot, prefabricated steel building for $381,600. The new shelter is located in Wapakoneta off Dearbaugh Avenue near the sheriff's office and fairgrounds. The 26-pen facility is expected to be completed by the end of the year or early next year.
