Coldwater's football team hit the ground running as the Cavs rushed for over 200 yards and five touchdowns in a 43-7 victory over Anna on Friday night in Midwest Athletic Conference play at Cavalier Stadium.
The Cavaliers' win sets up a battle for sole possession of first place in the MAC standings next Friday at Booster Stadium as Coldwater takes on Marion Local in Maria Stein.
The Cavaliers averaged over 7.5 yards per carry in racking up 227 yards on the ground while Coldwater's defense held Anna to just 225 yards of total offense.
Coldwater quarterback Brody Hoying rushed eight times for 76 yards and scored four touchdowns (16, 14, 11 and 1 yards). Adam Klosterman got the scoring going for the Cavaliers after picking off Anna quarterback Josh Robinson and returning it 50 yards for a score just 76 seconds into the game. Chris Post added a rushing touchdown and Matt Kramer was 4-of-6 kicking PATs and booted a 22-yard field goal.
Anna scored a consolation TD in the fourth quarter on Matthew Bruce's four-yard run. Bruce, starting in place of the injured Christian Williams, carried the ball 22 times for 93 yards.

St. John's 28, Fort Recovery 8
Tyler Jettinghoff was a yard shy of 200 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns to lead the Blue Jays past the Indians at Stadium Park.
Jettinghoff had scoring runs of 45 and two yards to help give the Blue Jays a 14-0 lead at halftime. Luke MacLennan added a 43-yard TD run in the third quarter, followed by a Nick Martz eight-yard scoring run to make it 28-0 after three quarters.
Fort Recovery's score came onn an 11-yard pass from Darien Sheffer to Mitch W. Stammen.
Jettinghoff carried 27 times for 199 yards and Martz added 72 yards with MacLennan finishing with 64 yards.
Kyle Timmerman had 45 yards on 10 carries for Fort Recovery.

His team came through this week by scoring the first 27 points of the game en route to a 41-19 Homecoming win over the Parkway Panthers.
NEW BREMEN - The Versailles Tigers scored three touchdowns in a span of seven minutes late in the first half to key a 31-0 Midwest Athletic Conference football win over the New Bremen Cardinals on Friday night at Cardinal Stadium.
