Jenevia Ruth
Jenevia "Jenny" Ruth, 85, formerly of St. Marys, died at 10:45 p.m. Nov. 19, 2013, at Otterbein St. Marys.
She was born July 2, 1928, in Middlesboro, Ky., to Floyd and Pauline Lynch Martin. She married Carl W. Ruth on Feb. 17, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1995.
She is survived by a son, Ralph (Lynn) Ruth, St. Marys; two grandsons, Doug Ruth, Toronto, Canada, and Dan Ruth, St. Marys; five great-grandchildren, Elisabeth, Madison, Courtney, Audrey and Eva; siblings, Joyce (Dale) Schierholt, Hamilton, Kathy (Geoff) Long, Fort Mitchell, Ky., Charlotte (Gary) Wemer, Emmaus, Pa., Van (Nancy) Martin, Hamilton, and Roy (Rosemary) Martin, Fairfield.
She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Ruth; a brother, Lewis Martin; and a sister, Linnie Greer.
She was a charter member of Hillsdale Baptist Church, St. Marys, where she had worked as a custodian for many years. She also provided custodial services to Dr. Crystal Oswalt and had worked at the former St. Marys Cotton Mill.
Caring for her family and working to aid the ministry of Hillsdale Baptist Church were her passions. She will be remembered for her warm, friendly personality and her deep devotion to Jesus Christ.
Funeral rites will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home West Chapel, the Rev. Garland Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
