Mary Gaerke
Mary E. Gaerke, 59, Fort Recovery, died Feb. 16, 2014, at her residence.
She was born July 22, 1954, in Coldwater to the late Arnold and Luella Bruns Schwieterman.
Surviving is her second husband, Bill Gaerke, whom she married Dec. 1, 2001, in St. Anthony. She married her first husband, Ronald "Foots" Wendel, on Aug. 17, 1974, in Burkettsville, and he passed away June 4, 1995.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kelly (Bob) Brunswick, Fort Recovery, and Sara (Brandon) Bettinger, Maysville, Ky.; two sons, Brad (Stephanie) Wendel, Coldwater, and Andy Wendel, Maysville, Ky.; three brothers, John (Jinny) Schwieterman, St. Henry, Tom (Marge) Schwieterman, Burkettsville, and Ron (Ellen) Schwieterman, Fort Recovery; three sisters, Nancy (Ronnie) Jones, Fort Recovery, Sue (Jerry) Borchers, Russia, and Karen (Jack) Hatert, New Weston; a sister-in-law, Deb Schwieterman, Burkettsville; grandchildren, Nicole, Caleb, Emily and Megan; mother-in-law, Rita Wendel, Coldwater; father and mother-in-law, Charlie and Betty Gaerke, Fort Recovery; and in-laws, Jane and Dan Pease, Celina, Karen and Randy Schwieterman, Coldwater, Jack and Judy Gaerke, Fort Recovery, Dale and Carolyn Gaerke, Perrysburg, Randy and Barb Gaerke, Coldwater, Theresa and Bill Delzeith, St. Henry, Rob and Alice Gaerke, Fort Recovery, Tim and Julie Gaerke, Fort Recovery, Donna and Mark Grube, St. Marys, Diane and Tim Homan, Coldwater, Marie and Dave Link, Fort Recovery, and Jennifer and Brian Ballard, Springboro.
Deceased are her father-in-law, Melvin Wendel; mother-in-law, Wilma Gaerke; two sisters, Judy Ditmer, and Darlene Schwieterman; a brother, Roy Schwieterman; and in-laws, Linda Wendel, Lowell Ditmer, and Jim Schwartz.
She was employed at the former Matt Schwieterman, Inc., Coldwater and currently was employed at the St. Henry Bake Shoppe. She was a 1972 graduate of St. Henry High School, St. Henry, and a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and spoiling her grandchildren.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will be at St. Anthony Cemetery, St. Anthony.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
