Mary Smith
Mary A. Smith, 87, Coldwater, died Feb. 19, 2014, at the Gardens at St. Henry.
She was born May 30, 1926, in Coldwater, to Jacob and Elizabeth (Billerman) Schoen.
She is survived by three sons, Allan (Carole Tobin) Bilger, White Pigeon, Mich., Mark (Teresa Herndon) Bilger, Coldwater, and Paul (Saundra Kilgore) Smith, Fayetteville, Ark.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; in-laws, Pauline Schoen-Hess and Mildred Schoen, both of Coldwater, Lee (Ruth) Billger and June Billger, all of Celina.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carlyle Bilger; her second husband, DeForest Smith; brothers, Paul, Linie and Louis Schoen; in-laws, Ruth Schoen-Westgerdes, Cappy Westgerdes, Paul Hess, Monty Billger, Linda Billger, Bill Smith, Calvin and Velve Goubouex and Don and Marie Stalder.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater and the Coldwater American Legion Auxiliary. She also was a member of the former all women's orchestra that played at Edgewater park. Her only regret was not being able to make everyone peanut brittle this year.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. March 1 at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
