Donald Weimert
Donald L. Weimert, 82, St. Marys, died at 9 a.m., Feb. 21, 2014, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born Nov. 22, 1931, in Wapakoneta, to Carl and Rosella Meyers Weimert. On March 10, 1953, he married Janet M. Olsen in Long Beach, Calif., and she survives.
Also surviving are three children, Susan (John) Duncan, St. Marys, James (Amy) Weimert, Orlando, Fla., and Larry Weimert, St. Marys; seven grandchildren, Josh Weimert, Jennifer Mosher, Nan Weimert, Bryan (Katie Rupert) Weimert, Jacob Weimert, Michelle Sestile and Shannon Icenogle; and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four siblings, Tom Weimert, Robert Weimert, Richard Weimert and Charlene Fannon; and a granddaughter, Jasmine Weimert.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Crown Equipment Corp., New Bremen. He enjoyed going camping, playing cards and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Dan Hunt officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Rest- haven Memory Gardens.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, where a Christian prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday with deacon Marty Brown officiating.
Memorials may be given to Grand Lake Hospice or St. Rita's Dialysis.
