Richard Clune
Richard L. Clune, 68, Celina, died Feb. 24, 2014, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
He was born Dec. 19, 1945, in Chickasaw, to Alphonse and Agnes Prenger Clune. He was married to Kathryn Laux, who passed away, and Sandra Homan-Schauer, who survives in Celina.
He also is survived by his children, Pamela Clune, St. Henry, Jill (Kevin) Eilerman, Fort Loramie, Jeff Clune, St. Henry, Diane (Marvin) Butler, Columbia, Mo., Kevin Clune, Columbia, Mo., Cara (Jason) Williams, Columbus, Abra (Greg) Koch, Midland, Mark (Lisa) Schauer, Cincinnati and Paul Schauer, Celina; 16 grandchildren, Tony, Katie, Jessica, Elizabeth, Lexi, Dylan, Skie, Cameron, Kevin, Jordan, Bennett, Graham, Carolyn, Owen, Amelia and Edwin; brothers and sisters, Julie (Charles) Pax, Maryland, Jan Piekenbrock, Maria Stein, Arnold (Pat) Clune, Minster, John (Marilyn) Clune, New Bremen, Kay (Roger) Hoying, Fort Loramie, Ed Clune, Maria Stein, Randy Clune, Chickasaw, and Deb (Charles) Riethman, Maria Stein; mother-in-law, Lillian Gaerke-Homan; and in-laws, Jane Clune, Alabama, Laura (Thomas) Behr, Sidney, David (Joan) Homan, Hoagland, Ind., Alvin (Eileen) Homan, Minster, Gary (Jane) Homan, St. Henry, Gary Gaerke, Coldwater, Dennis (Andrea) Gaerke, Waterford, Mich., Linda (Al) Lefeld, Coldwater, Nicholas (Jan) Gaerke, Centerville, Terry (Phyllis) Gaerke, Coldwater, Marlene (James) Balster, New Bremen, Leonard (Lucy) Gaerke, Coldwater, and Cindy Gaerke, Coldwater.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Josh Eilerman; a brother, Lavern Clune; father-in-law, Cletus Homan; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bernadette and Herbert Laux; and in-laws, Leroy Piekenbrock and David Gaerke.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Carthagena, where he served as an usher. He was a longtime blood donor; enjoyed golfing, working with tools and playing with his grandchildren; and was a Webelos leader, Cubmaster, and Girl Scout leader when his children were young. He worked as a machinist for Chickasaw Machine and Crown and retired from Coldwater Machine after 37 years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
