Cyril Klosterman
Cyril "Cy" Leo Klosterman, 90, Beavercreek, passed away Feb. 23, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aloyius H. and Agnes Gillig Klosterman, Celina.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ann Claire Reinhard Klosterman; children, Judy Tausch, Joe (Carmelina) Klosterman, Jim Klosterman, John (Sue) Klosterman, Jerry Klosterman, Jeff (Lillian) Klosterman, Jane Klosterman, Marian Klosterman, Michael (Christina Baranowski) Klosterman, Madonna (Terry) Johnson, Nancy Klosterman, Susan (Chris) Hampel and Madeline Klosterman; grandchildren, Lisa, Jeremy, Jennifer, Scott, Andrew, Christopher, Nicholas, Emily, Heather, Shannon, Shelly, Ethan, Sylvia, Chelsea, Rebecca, Benjamin, Brendan, Tristan, Adam, Justin, Ashley, Tyler, Amy, Luke, Claire and Hannah; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Mark (Diane) Klosterman, Celina; nieces; nephews; and friends.
Deceased are a sister, Rosella Kessler; an infant son, Richard; and grandsons, Joshua Johnson and Isaac Klosterman.
He honorably served in the U.S. Army in World War II and participated in the Normandy Invasion. He apprenticed as a machine repairman and later worked and retired from Delco Products. He loved his family, gardening and giving to others. After retiring, he volunteered his services and taught English as a second language at the Dayton YMCA for 25 years. He also volunteered at the Corner Cupboard Thrift Store for 35 years.
A memorial service was held March 1, 2014. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
