Rebecca Szanto
Rebecca "Becky" Hale Szanto, 66, Celina, made her journey to God on March 26, 2014, at home surrounded by family and friends.
She was born in Lima on March 22, 1948, to Harry and Bertie Hale. She married her best friend and the love of her life, John A. Szanto II, on Sept. 8, 1979, and he survives in Celina.
Other survivors are stepsons, John (Rebecca) Szanto III, Huber Heights, and Richard (Robin) Szanto, Chandler, Ariz.; a sister, Kathy Hubbard, Lima; brothers, Gary (Vicki) Hale, St. Marys, Donald Hale, Lima, and John Hale, Dayton; five grandchildren, Makenzie (Matthan) Bosse, John IV, Olivia, Savannah and Max; a great-grandchild, Abigail Bosse; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased are an infant brother; infant son; and brother-in-law, David Hubbard.
She graduated from Lima Central Catholic in 1966. She enjoyed crafts, cooking and spoiling those around her. She was a beloved member of the community with an outgoing personality, and had an affinity for all animals and people. She was a strong woman who loved life, lived each day to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Contributions in her memory can be made to the American Lung Cancer Association, Hospice of Coldwater or James Cancer Hospital.
Arrangements are being handled by Miller Funeral Homes, St. Marys.
