Shirley Cordonnier
Shirley Ann Cordonnier, 71, Versailles, passed away at 11:04 a.m. April 15, 2014, at Wayne HealthCare, Greenville.
She was born Nov. 24, 1942, in Miami County, to Joseph M. and Luella J. (Bulcher) Berger. On May 30, 1962, she married LeRoy C. Cordonnier, who survives.
Also surviving are children, Mark (Lisa) Cordonnier, Versailles, Steve (Judy) Cordonnier, Versailles, Deborah (Todd) Barga, Versailles, and Kevin (Tina) Cordonnier, Versailles; grandchildren, Scott and Mandy Christy, Megan and Zac Amand, Kelsey Cordonnier, Nate Cordonnier, Stephanie Cordonnier, Alex Cordonnier, Sarah Cordonnier, Adam Cordonnier, Austin Barga, Josie Barga, Seth Barga, Ashlyn Cordonnier, Taylor Cordonnier, Lily Cordonnier and Zach Cordonnier; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Abigail Christy; sisters, Joan (Carl) Langenkamp, Yorkshire, and Marilyn Petitjean, Yuma, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Debbie Berger, Beavercreek; brothers-in-law, Dennis Cordonnier, Fort Loramie, Eugene (Vicky) Cordonnier, Russia, and Donald (Jean) Cordonnier, Piqua; sisters-in-law, JoAnn (John) Covelli, Sidney, Kathleen (George) Subler, Versailles and Marleen (Tom) Hemmelgarn, Russia; numerous nieces and nephews; and many great friends in Versailles and Yuma, Ariz., where they wintered.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Berger; and a brother-in-law, Denis Petitjean.
She retired from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Greenville where she was a deputy registrar. She formerly worked at the Versailles Policy. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles, where she formerly served on the Parish Council and was a lay distributor. She formerly served as a volunteer of the Versailles Life Squad, was a former Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Brownie Leader, and had coached girls youth softball. She also loved crocheting and traveling.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Denis Catholic Church, the Rev. Ron Haft officiating with assistance by Deacon Andrew Cordonnier. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery, Versailles.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.
