Louis Ahrns
Louis P. Ahrns, 57, Fort Loramie, died 3:30 p.m. May 1, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Sept. 11, 1956, in Sidney, to Joseph and Mary Keller Ahrns, who are deceased. On April 28, 1984, in St. Henry, he married Denise Rindler, who survives in Fort Loramie.
Also surviving are a son, Jerry Ahrns and his fiancé, Melissa Wenning, and her son, Zachary, Fort Loramie; and a daughter, Jayme (Dan) Brockman, and their daughter, Emily, Fort Recovery; brothers and sisters, Leo Ahrns, Fort Loramie, Esther (Joe) Heitkamp, Fort Recovery, Vernon (Amy) Ahrns, Fort Loramie, and Leroy (Phyllis) Ahrns, Sidney; mother-in-law, Benita Rindler, Coldwater; in-laws, Bill (Christie) Rindler, Rossburg, Randy (Deb) Rindler, Tipp City, Curt (Patti) Rindler, Anna, Karen (Frank) Goffena, Maria Stein, Tony (Sandy) Rindler, St. Henry, Jacqui (Steve) Lehmkuhl, Tipp City, Gina Rindler, Sidney, and Tom (Lisa) Rindler, Tipp City.
Deceased are brothers, Leon and Jerome Ahrns; sister-in-law, Rita Ahrns; and father-in-law, William "Sonny" Rindler.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Newport, and the Men's Sodality of the church. He also was a member of the Knights of St. John, Fort Loramie, Fraternal Order of Eagles 1391, Minster, and Walkup Country Club.
He was a 1976 graduate of Fort Loramie High School and worked at Clopay, Russia, until his illness.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Newport, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia.
