COLDWATER - The district will spend more than a quarter of a million dollars next year to put new technology in the hands of students and teachers.

A former Chickasaw man serving 24 years in prison for a 2008 quadruple traffic fatality could get a trial after a U.S. appeals court recently upheld a claim that his attorneys were ineffective.
The Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in Cincinnati on May 5 granted 28-year-old Nicholas Schwieterman's claim that his defense team - Dayton attorneys Marc T. Ross and Scott Calaway - failed to properly investigate circumstances of the crash and advised him to plead with inadequate information. [More]

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP - Kierstan Courtney's RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning scored McKayla Wolff as Shawnee outlasted a determined group from Celina for a 7-6 win in the Division II sectional.
The Indians (19-6) make the short trek to Elida on Friday for the sectional final. Celina ends the season at 11-13. [More]

Midwest Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships: Day One
COLDWATER - The Midwest Athletic Conference track meet got underway Tuesday night at Cavalier Stadium as finals were contested in nine field events and the two 4x800-meter relays.
ST. HENRY - St. Henry improved its record to 23-2 and clinched a share of the Midwest Athletic Conference title by beating Fort Recovery 5-2 Tuesday at the Wally Post Athletic Complex.
