Jane Wilkins
Jane Wilkins, 76, Celina, passed away at 2:15 p.m. on June 2, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born April 7, 1938, in Celina, to Franklin "Buzz" and Rita Fischer Wise. She married Ned Wilkins, who preceded her in death in 1999.
Surviving are a daughter, Peggy Wilkins, and her partner, Dean Armstrong, of Chicago, Ill.; a sister and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth "Becky" and Robert "Doc" Wimmers, Carol Stream, Ill., Robert "Chico" Weber, Celina, and Brenda Wise of Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Annie Wise, Akron, and Barbara Wise, Troy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Franklin "Skip" Wise and Mike Wise, and sisters and brother-in-law Barbara "Bobbie" Weber and Judith and Sam Dixon.
She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School with the class of 1956. She had a lifelong passion for aviation and earned her pilot's license in 1956 at the age of 17, even before she had a driver's license. She was formerly employed by Marathon Oil in Findlay and became a parts manager for Kal-Aero in Kalamazoo, Mich. She retired in 2000 from Duncan Aviation in Battle Creek, Mich. She was a member of the Silver Wings, loved cats and enjoyed fishing and camping.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. June 14 at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Kenneth G. Alt officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is one hour before services, 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SART Inc. of St. Marys or a pet/cat rescue of the donor's choice.
