Norman Wierwille
Norman G. "Ez" Wierwille, 80, of New Knoxville, died at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born Jan. 1, 1934, in New Knoxville, the son of Ezra and Lenora (Katterheinrich) Wierwille. He married Lillian Schroer on Sept. 4, 1954, at the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville. She survives.
Surviving are a son, Steven (Marcia) Wierwille, New Knoxville; a daughter, Beth (Chuck) Shreve, of New Knoxville; five grandchildren, Kim (David) Meyer, Dan (Brittany) Wierwille, Nikki Shreve, Colton Shreve and Tyler Shreve; three great-grandchildren, Alayna Meyer, Adalee Meyer and Evan Wierwille; and three sisters, Arlene Dicus, St. Marys, Gloria (Lee) Schroer, New Knoxville, and Alberta Gambrel, Sidney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marjorie Wierwille.
He was a lifelong resident of New Knoxville and had served on the zoning board, New Knoxville Electric Board and Pilger Ruhe Cemetery Board. He was a lifelong member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville where he served as a deacon. He loved family so much and enjoyed the grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely. He loved woodworking and playing golf.
Funeral rites will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, with the Rev. Dr. David Williams officiant. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the ministry center of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville. Memorial gifts may be given to either the Radio Broadcast Fund of the Church or to the American Heart Fund. Condolences may be left at Millerfuneralhomes.net.
Friends may also call one hour prior to the funeral Monday in the heritage room of the church.
