Bobby Toler
Bobby "Leonard" Joe Toler, 68, Lula, Ga., succumbed to an extended battle with COPD on July 1, 2014, at home.
He was born Jan. 3, 1946, in Coal Mountain, W.Va., to Russell and Geraldine Blankenship Toler, who are deceased.
Surviving are three children, Penny (Scott) Mathieu, Russell Lee Toler, and Amanda (Frankie) Roberts; four grandchildren, Ashley (Danny) O'Dell, Jack (J.D.) Mathieu, Donna Mathieu and Nicholas Toler; three-great grandchildren, Keith Wilson, Abigail Wilson and Kinsley Dunn; six sisters, Charlene (Jay) Dameron, Ernestine Paul, Eleanor (Hugh) Little, Donna Harvey, Pam (Harold) Miller and Lisa Jordan; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased are a son, Leonard Keith Toler, and a sister, Rebecca Sue Toler.
He was a loving father, who did his best to provide for his family and tried to help his children through their lives and deal with their decisions.
He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He retired from Shasta Beverages in 2011 after 19 years of service. He was industrious, a mechanic by trade, but tried his hand in various fields. If something was broken, he could fix it; if not, it either couldn't be fixed or it was better to buy a new one. Before his health limited his ability, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and especially fishing.
A memorial service is 1-3 p.m. Saturday at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, Ga.
