Ruth McLaughlin
Ruth L. McLaughlin, 90, Muncie, Ind., went to be with the Lord the morning of July 23, 2014, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born on Jan. 27, 1924, in Fort Recovery, to Earl and Clela Runyon Granger. She was married to Wilbur McLaughlin for 57 years before his death in 2006.
Surviving are two sons, Michael (Donna) McLaughlin, Muncie, and Timothy (Deborah) McLaughlin, Springport, Ind.; a grandson, Jeremy (Rebekah) McLaughlin, Green Bay, Wis.; three great-grandchildren, Cabot, Ainsley and Tate; a brother, David (Betty) Granger, Celina; and several nieces and nephews.
Also deceased are two brothers, Harold and Paul Granger.
She was a graduate of Fort Recovery High School, and received her bachelor of science and master's degrees from Ball State University. She was a teacher at Cowan Elementary School for 25 years.
She was a member of Southside Church of the Nazarene, Muncie, Southside Women's Quilting Group, Perry Township WCTU, Delaware County Retired Teachers Association and the National Education Association. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed crocheting for the homeless missions. She had a heart for those who were homebound or in nursing homes, visiting them faithfully.
Services are noon Saturday at Southside Church of the Nazarene, Muncie, Pastor Jeremy McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Springhill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the church.
