Karen Bowman-Wood
Karen Lee Bowman-Wood, 59, Coldwater, and formerly of Portland, Ind., passed away July 19, 2014, at Celina Manor Nursing Home, Celina.
She was born Sept. 12, 1954, in Waverly, Ind., to Richard and Dorothy Joan Glover Bowman.
Surviving are a son, Jason (Leslie) Petersen, Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Amy (Troy) Hudson, rural Portland; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two brothers, Michael Bowman, Indianapolis, and Jim (Kim) Bowman, Lebanon, Ind.
She was a graduate of Carmel High School, Indiana University School of Nursing, Ivy Tech, and the Wishard Paramedic program in Indianapolis. She was a LPN at Wishard and Randolph Co. Hospital. She was formerly employed at The Flower Nook, and Arts Place in Portland. She also worked at Fort Recovery Industries.
A memorial service to celebrate her life is at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, Portland, the Rev. Josh Huggett officiating. Burial will follow at the Center Cemetery, west of Portland.
Calling is 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
