M.R. Satya
Dr. M.R. Satya, 66, died Aug. 28, 2014, at the Ross Heart Hospital at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
He was born June 30, 1948, in Mandya District, Karnataka State, India. He was married for 36 years to his wife, Shanthi, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Gowri and Lakshmi, of whom he was incredibly proud; three brothers; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers.
He was a devoted husband and father and lived a life devoted to others. He always placed the needs of his family, friends and patients above his own, and will be remembered for his soft demeanor and his big heart.
He was a cardiologist in Celina for 27 years and worked in the Mercer County Community Hospital emergency room from 1981 to 1984. Recently, he was in charge of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Facility at the Mercer County Community Hospital, where he helped patients recover from heart issues.
He loved to spend time with his family and cook food for family and friends. In the summer time, he tended to his robust garden and loved to share his fruits and vegetables with neighbors and friends. He was the family photographer and loved to capture his family's happy moments.
He graduated from Mysore Medical College in Mysore, India, in 1973. After medical school, he trained all over the United States and completed his cardiology fellowship in 1986 from the Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.
Calling is 5-9 p.m. today and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina. A Hindu funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
