Earl Hainline Sr.
Earl R. Hainline Sr., 75, Rockford, passed away at 3:48 p.m. Sept. 24, 2014, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born Nov. 15, 1938, in rural Celina, to Carl E. and Evelyn Norris Hainline. On June 7, 1958, he married Connie Heath, who survives in Rockford.
Also surviving are his children, Linda (Kevin) Bom, Pulaski, N.Y., Earl Hainline Jr., Longview, W.Va., Maria Hainline, Colorado Springs, Colo., Rick Hainline, Van Wert, Michael Hainline, Rockford, and Patricia (Sean) Shaw, Celina; a son-in-law, Lanny Spahr, Greenville; grandchildren, Andrew Ruffini, Nathan Ruffini, Stefan Ruffini, Elizabeth and Stas Sergienko, Isaac Hainline and Tabby Burkholder, Evelyn and Matt Gates, Blazin Spahr, Amber and Michael Mangen, Jared Spahr, Matthew Andrews and Kayla Andrews; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Luella Garrett, Van Wert; and a sister-in-law, Mary Mohler, of Missouri.
Deceased are a daughter, Virginia Spahr; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Hainline; two grandchildren, Phillip Spahr and De'Anna Spahr, two great-grandchildren; a brother, Duane Hainline; and an infant sister, Luetta Hainline.
He graduated from Van Wert High School in 1957 and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957-1960 in Germany. He retired from Navistar-International in 1992, after 30 years of employment as a group leader in the painting department in Fort Wayne, Ind., and Springfield. He was a gun collector and a proud member of the N.R.A., and was a Little League baseball coach in Scott.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, Pastor Stewart Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 9:30-10:30 a.m.Saturday at the funeral home.
