Glen Miller
Glen Edwin Miller, 96, Rockford, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Oct. 21, 2014, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
He was born May 21, 1918, in Celina, to Charles and Estella Cora Wolfe. On Jan. 18, 1941, he married Dorothy Emma Sealscott, who died April 27, 1993.
Surviving is a daughter, Judy (John) Farmer, Rockford; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Suzanne Miller, Rockford.
Also deceased are a son, Glen Miller Jr.; a grandson; and a brother, Lloyd A. Miller.
He was a World War II Army veteran and a lifelong farmer. He was sexton of Riverside Cemetery in Rockford for many years and also was a butcher in Rockford and Coldwater. He had lived in the Rockford area all his life and was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Glen D. Eckhart Post 508 of the American Legion in Rockford.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Military graveside services will be conducted by Rockford American Legion Post 508.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
