Harold Donovan
Harold E. Donovan, 76, Celina, died at 11:36 a.m. Jan. 6, 2015, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born Aug. 28, 1938, in Auglaize County, to Charles and Pauline Rasawehr Donovan. On June 27, 1959, he married Beverly C.F. Sudman, who survives in Celina.
Also surviving are two sons, Randy (Diane) Donovan, Celina, and Terry (Connie) Donovan, Celina; five grandchildren, Eric (Lauren) Donovan, Westerville, Kayla (Wes) Chapman, Coldwater, Tracy Donovan, Celina, Kari Donovan, Celina, and Maria Donovan, Celina; and two great-grandchildren, Talon Donovan and Addalyn Chapman.
He was a 1956 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and retired as a small business owner in Celina after 30 years. He previously was an accomplished welder for various businesses in the Celina area.
He was a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed all activities involving his children and grandchildren, especially sporting events. He particularly enjoyed hockey and IU basketball. He liked driving his drag car at the local drag strips. After he stopped driving, he supported various sprint car teams.
He also was a mechanic for 25 years and in his later years, was an avid fan of all styles of racing. He had a passion for gardening and camping and particularly enjoyed staying at Amishville, U.S.A.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Allan Sudman officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Mercer County Heart Association and the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
