Forest Roebuck
Forest "Woody" Dale Roebuck, 80, Rockford, passed away at 10:45 p.m., Jan. 8, 2015.
He was born April 21, 1934 to Rev. Garrison and Jocie (Archer) Roebuck in Defiance. On June 5, 1954, he married Marlene Provci. and she survives.
He is also survived by a son, Greg (Wendy) Roebuck, Lima; two daughters, Terri (Rex) Piper and Sherri (Bing) Scheidt, both of Rockford; three grandchildren, Amber Slusher, Justin Roebuck and Andy Scheidt; a step-granddaughter, Kristen Crouch, two great-grandchildren, Alyx Slusher and Cade Slusher.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, Lee Roebuck, Lamar Roebuck and Virgil (Pete) Roebuck, two sisters, Lucille Douce and Lois Abrahm; and a step-grandson, Cody Dick.
He had been a resident of the Rockford area since he was in the eighth-grade and was a 1952 graduate of Rockford High School in 1952.
He worked for the Eaton Company of Van Wert for 38 years. He was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church. Over the years, he held many offices and served on the pastor-parish committee. He also was a member of the Shanes Crossing Historical Society. He was an avid Parkway sports fan, a member of the Parkway Booster Club; and a little league coach.
But he most loved rooting for his great-granddaughter and great-grandson in all their activities, and was a constant supporter of his family that he loved so dearly.
Services are 11:30 a.m. Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.
