Robert Brunswick
Robert J. Brunswick, 91, Maria Stein, died at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 14, 2015, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born Sept. 5, 1923, in Sharpsburg, to Lawrence and Justine Braun Brunswick. On Oct. 16, 1948, in St. Rose Catholic Church, he married Erma Luttmer, who survives in Maria Stein.
Also surviving are three children, David (Elaine) Brunswick, Celina, Mary Jane Kaylor, Minster, and Dean (Jane) Brunswick, Osgood; five grandchildren, Austin (Karissa) Kaylor, Jonathan (Michelle) Kaylor, Dustin Brunswick, Cameron Brunswick and Aaron Brunswick; a great-grandson, Carson; two brothers, Dr. Wilferd (Verna) Brunswick, Beverly Hills, Fla., and Art (Dorothy) Brunswick, Beavercreek; a sister, Bea Flaherty, Des Moines, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Madonna Brunswick, Coldwater; in-laws, Leonard Luttmer, Yorkshire, Alfred (Pauline) Luttmer, St. Henry, and Norma Stammen, St. Henry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Also deceased are grandchildren, Meredith and Matthew Brunswick; brothers and sisters, Melvin (Mildred) Brunswick, Richard (Rita) Brunswick, John Brunswick, Rita (Frank) Tumbush, Wilma Brunswick, Mary Catherine Brunswick and Ruth (Ed) Goubeaux; and in-laws, Lawrence (Mercedes) Poeppelman, Wilbert Luttmer, Bernard (Marie) Luttmer, Werner Stammen and Virgil (Norma) Arkenberg.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Men's Sodality of the church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Maria Stein American Legion, Chickasaw VFW and Catholic Foresters. He retired from Weaver Brothers Eggs after 60 years of service and also worked for Larger Brothers.
He loved his family, his work and a good game of cards.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, the Rev. Tom Brenberger officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. John Cemetery, Maria Stein.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Memorials may be given to the Mercer County Aktion Club in honor of his granddaughter, Meredith.
