Albin Kramer
Albin H. Kramer, 97, Maria Stein, died Jan. 16, 2015, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born March 8, 1917, in St. Rose, to Henry and Rosa Holdheide Kramer. On June 17, 1941, he married Lucille Knapke, who survives in Maria Stein.
Also surviving are three children, Fred (Joyce) Kramer, Bloomington, Ind., Diana (Paul) Post, St. Henry, and Jane (Steve) Perez, Lehigh Acres, Fla.; a son-in-law, Donald (Donna) Kremer, Coldwater; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Norb Kramer, St. Henry, and Mary Ann Severt-Overman, St. Marys; and in-laws, Lucille Kramer, Celina, Ellen Kramer, Chickasaw, Urban (Mildred) Knapke, Maria Stein, and Addie Knapke, Versailles.
Deceased are a daughter, Shirley Kremer; eight siblings, Leon Kramer, Othmar (Rose) Kramer, Agnes (Elmer) Knapke, Helen (Charles) Connolly, Werner (Marilyn) Kramer, Andrew Kramer, Hilda Kramer and Alfrieda Kramer; and in-laws, Alice Kramer, Roman Severt, Gene Overman, Aloys (Dorina) Knapke, Harry (Eleanor) Winkeljohn, Andrew (Lorena) Knapke and Albert Knapke.
He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein; Knights of St. John 313, Maria Stein; and the Maria Stein American Legion 571 and was a lifetime member of the Chickasaw VFW Post 9019.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II and was retired as a courier for Community First Bank, Celina. He enjoyed card playing and fishing.
Funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein, the Rev. Tom Brenberger officiating. Military rites by the American Legion and V.F.W. posts will follow.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
